Winifred Chu, D.O., M.P.H., F.A.A.D., F.A.O.C.D.
Dr. Chu is the founder of Skin Essentials Dermatology. She was raised in Forest Hills, NY, and attended CUNY, Queens College for her undergraduate study and earned her Master of Public Health (M.P.H) with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She was a recipient of multiple scholarships, honors/award in both undergraduate and graduate studies. Dr. Chu received her degree in medicine (D.O.) from NYIT/New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008. She completed her internship and residency training in both dermatology and family medicine at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY, and has served as a dermatology chief resident during her last year of residency. She is a board certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and a member of American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and Women’s Dermatologic Society. Dr. Chu also serves as the Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center where she trains dermatology residents.
